Your public servants at work

Absolutely tone-deaf.  That's the only way to describe this kind of political activity in the current climate:

- New Hampshire House voting on free ski passes for lawmakers

- Former Speaker: potential cuts in Congressional pay wouldn't reflect the 'dignity' of the office (!!)

- City spends $585,000 on study of how to save money

- Democratic senator pushing higher taxes faces outstanding $1,200 tax penalty
(in all bipartisan fairness, I don't think any of our self-appointed "betters" understand 'leading by example')

- White House press corps frustrated over lack of access to president's golf vacation
(OK... that's not due to tone deafness.  It's a no-brainer that presidential golf pics are incongruous with high unemployment.  Too bad the press are likely to do little other than whine through back channels.  How many vacations have the Obamas taken on the taxpayer's dime, anyway??)

It's like Glenn Reynolds frequently says: Worst. Political. Class. EVER.
