He's lost that lovin' feeling...

My, my... the man who once felt a "thrill going up my leg" while listening to an Obama speech has finally gotten around to wondering what many Americans have for quite a while:

Why doesn't the President simply order his original birth documents released, and put to rest the controversy over whether he's Constitutionally eligible to be in office?

Clarence Page's response on the video segment -- "he's got more important things to focus on" just doesn't cut it. Sure, that's been the talking point for going on three years now. But it's pretty obvious that when almost half of Americans aren't sure you were born here, your legitimacy is at stake. What's more important to focus on?

The fact the solution to this problem is so easy and obvious... yet not taken... is what continues to fuel the controversy. Smoke, fire, squandered political capital and all that. For someone who was hailed as a masterful orator and statesman, this simply doesn't make sense. It seems to come down to two options: either he is so out of touch that he's willing to dig his heels in to spite his critics, his own credibility be damned. Or there's something there.

I'll say this: in the event there's something to the challenge, can you imagine the chaos that would ensue, given the volume of controversial legislation, bailouts and policy enacted in the first two years of this Administration?
