I've become convinced in recent years the world's growing hope of contacting alien civilizations is directly related to our rejection of God and His scripture. We decline to accept the set of answers we've been given, but we still know we have questions we can't answer on our own. Rather than go back to the Father, we'd rather look for some assumed cosmic sibling.
As this article put it, if we were spending tax dollars teaching people how to pray, there'd be an uproar. But there's a lot more evidence of the effectiveness of prayer than there is for SETI. Worth considering.
