...according to television analyst Andrew Tyndall, the nightly newscasts have devoted more minutes to the campaign in 2007 than in 2003, 1999, 1995, and 1991 — combined.But then, the field hasn't been this wide open--or the electorate this uneasy--in some time. And while the candidates flaunt their alleged expertise to deal with everything from Iraq to inflation, here's a curve ball for them: this is the first election since 1860 in which the eventual winner may have to deal with Americans who have declared their independence. Take THAT, all you policy wonks!
