News Flash: Washington politico is seriously talking about building a wall on the U.S.-Mexican border. Did Rep. Tom Tancredo finally gain mainstream respectability? Heck, no...
I've faulted the Republicans for many things in recent years, but leaving this issue on the table for Hillary to triangulate with just shows how brain dead and unconnected the hierarchy has become. I'd love to think everyone realizes this is sheer political manuvering, but I long ago lost confidence the mass of the electorate has any sense. Remember the whisperings about ammending the constitution so Bill could run a third time? Anyone who thinks this is a principled stand by Hillary should see if they can also turn $1,000 into $100,000 in 10 months trading livestock futures. But of course she's sincere...the author of the above-linked article could conclude that in just two conversations with her on the subject. How nice.
You can't really blame Hillary for seizing on a potent political issue, though. Aiming the IRS at her opponents will seem like child's play once she has her hands on the power George II has concentrated in the Patriot Act.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
