Residents of the Mississippi Gulf Coast didn't get near the attention New Orleans did after Hurricane Katrina last year, even though they were the true "ground zero" of the disaster. The region is still largely in shambles, so it's understandable the State's two senators are pushing hard...for...
- Relocating a recently rebuilt railroad ($250 million in repairs) at a further cost of $750 million
- Forcing the Navy to pay Northrup Grumman Shipbuilding up to $500 million to offset 'business disruption' following the storm.
Isn't it nice to see Senators Lott and Cochran looking out for the little guy? And my, what a high opinion they have of the people who report on all their hard work!
