Bottom line: I've come to see routine profanity as mental laziness. Reasoned statements take work--stringing together expletives is just an easy rut for most. As for humor, I tell my boys that anyone can pull off a fart joke. I don't begrudge anyone their choice of speech -- but I don't have to subsidize F-bombs with my work here. The soapbox is now vacant.
