Weapons of mass distraction

How can anyone possibly claim there is equality under the law in the United States when:

- An admitted tax cheat is Treasury Secretary
- Government exempts itself (and favored contributors) from rules it imposes on everyone else
- Home invasions are excused under the "oh, sorry... wrong house" clause for uniformed invaders

And last, but not least:
- Kingpins of finance never go to jail for their misdeeds... their syndicates merely pay a "cut" of their ill-gotten gains to The State:

On Wednesday, Barclays agreed to pay $450 million to resolve accusations that it had tried to manipulate rates to benefit the bank’s own bottom line. At the height of the financial crisis, regulators say, the big British bank reported bogus figures that in some cases had influenced a benchmark for student loans, credit cards and mortgages.
Fortunately for the denizens of the Washington-Wall Street axis, there's precious little chance most Americans are putting these various data points together.  No, they're busy preparing for tomorrow's cookouts, and reading such shocking, completely unexpected headlines as "US adds forces in Persian Gulf," "Ballot issues arise after Rangel win," and "Anderson Cooper says he's gay."

Priorities, people...
