Can a Christian be a Libertarian?

Increasingly, I'm persuaded that is the Biblical conclusion.  Maximizing individual freedom accords the highest respect to the independent moral agency God placed within every imago dei.  It also comports with the Scriptural warning that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  Thus, increasing the power to compel individuals -- even with noble intentions -- is a dangerous course.

I recommend for your reading pleasure this link.  It reviews the discussion ensuing from a recently published editorial in the Washington Post from whence this post draws its title.

Some additional thoughts can be found here.
