Controlling the narrative

Latest exhibits, as others have noticed and pointed out:

Exhibit A:  Plenty of leftists/Statists have been on the bandwagon of calling Tea Party / small government activists "terrorists."  But that label has yet to be applied to the beneficiaries of government largesse who set fire to parts of London and other English cities last week.  Interesting, no?

Exhibit B:  The only reason anyone cares about the Iowa "Straw Poll" is that the pundit class claims it can be an early predictor of how the wind's blowing in the Presidential race.  So, after all that build up, why is it that Ron Paul, who placed second by only a fraction of a percentage point, is nearly absent from press reporting, while Michelle Bachmann, with only 152 more votes than Paul out of 16,000 cast, basks in the spotlight?  Easy... most of the establishment rails at Bachmann, but consider her far less of a threat to the Big Government machinery than the Paul campaign.

Corporate media is always about two things: the agenda and the narrative.  And yes, that goes for Faux News, too.

To be independent, one must be an independent thinker, and not just digesting information as it's selectively presented...
