Poor California:California faces a $25.4 billion budget deficit over the next 20 months - nearly double what some leading lawmakers predicted a week ago - and a solution to this newest crisis is expected to be far more difficult than in years past, the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst's Office said Wednesday.
Clearly, this situation has nothing to do with items like this:The California Supreme Court decided unanimously Monday that illegal immigrants may continue to be eligible for in-state tuition rates at the state's colleges and universities rather than pay the higher rates charged to those who live out of state... About 25,000 illegal immigrants are estimated to receive in-state tuition rates in California.
Or these:Unemployment in the state of California was 12.4% in September - one of the highest rates in the nation.
Earlier this year, it was reported that in the area around Sacramento, California there was one closed business for every six that were still open.
20 percent of the residents of Los Angeles County are now receiving public aid.
Party's over... and it's gonna be a bear of a hangover.
