This month, Afghanistan became America's longest-running conflict. At first glance, it might appear it has the Energizer Bunny's potential to keep going, and going, and going... especially since we're funding both sides.
But it's clear frustration is building over the inability to figure out a way out.
This alleged strategy of forward defense is increasingly indefensible. Perhaps those troops could be put to better use here at home? After all, if we were serious about securing our own borders, would we need to worry as much about what sort of regime people are willing to tolerate, half a world away?
