Well, duh!

The Associated Press has a blinding flash of the obvious:
...this wasn't the first time a rodent's been spied in the White House, or even the Rose Garden.

Moreover, rodents of all kinds are pretty common in Washington. (((Really? Who knew??)))
I suppose we should be grateful it's just the little ones, although it would be amusing to see ROUSes disrupting press events. Maybe they could cull the corps a little.

Continuing their helpful report, AP goes on to note:
Washington is, after all built along a river, on what used to be a malarial swamp.
And despite all the construction (or perhaps because of it), the area is STILL making a lot of Americans ill...
