Quote of the day, part two

"On the day before the Senate Homeland Security Committee's hearing on terrorist travel, it is alarming to learn that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) inadvertently posted its own security manual on the Internet."

- Senator Susan Collins, R-Me., ranking Republican member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

I've said it before and will continue to do so: TSA's two primary functions appear to be employing people who were pushed around as children and enjoy returning the favor, and conditioning the traveling public to unconditional obedience as good Germans Americans.

It's been eight years since 9/11. That means younger teenagers can't recall a time when mass transit didn't mean practically stripping on command in front of strangers, and submitting to wands and hands roaming around in one's personal space. I remain unconvinced that TSA poses any barrier to determined terrorist activity. Especially given their tendency to leave back doors open, and now, to post their whole game plan online. Good job, guys!
