Milestones to manhood

Parenting has to be the toughest job you can love. The Oldest Musketeer is now 15, with all the transitions inherent in that age. But amongst the ups and downs, it's a joy to see glimpses of the man he has the potential to become.

Recognizing the year has been more challenging than some for Mom, he decided to go all out for Christmas. I could not have been more proud as he explained what was on his heart and how he wanted to go about it. Taking him out shopping last evening, watching him look for the right gift and conduct his business with the sales assistant was a pleasure to watch.

At least he's giving me things to remember during those moments I wonder if it's prudent to let him loose in the world someday...

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." All three are essential to parenting teenagers!
