Some perspective

In the past few months, newly-graduated 18-years olds have signed up for military service--kids who were born after the 1991 Gulf War that expelled Saddam from Kuwait.

Put another way: very soon, there will be troops in the Middle East supporting a continuous U.S. military presence there that has gone on longer than they've been alive.
