In sum: the government is spending a larger percentage of the economy than during the heyday of the Johnson administration, when we were fighting both a war in Vietnam and a "war on poverty" (both losing causes, by the way). Eventually, taxes will have to skyrocket to support this continuing uptick, but naturally our 'dear leaders' will put that off as long as popular, knowing it gives the game away. So they employ the 'stealth tax:' printing money out of thin air (without regard for inflation):
This second graph is worthy of Mugabe's Zimbabwe. Get ready for large-denomination bills to become increasingly common... for those who can obtain them.
