And now, page two...

Radio broadcaster Paul Harvey has passed away at age 90. More than one generation of America grew up listening to his unique voice painting news pictures on the radio waves. I listened at various times and places, but one particular memory stands out. In college, I regularly visited a barber shop that still felt like a Norman Rockwell kind of place -- the proprietor was an elderly WWII sailor, and there were always plenty of hunting, fishing and firearms magazines on hand for the usually short wait for the chair. He always took an interest in his "regulars," and like Cheers, it was a place where folks knew your name. But it seemed like always, in the background, was Paul Harvey's voice on the radio. Funny how you develop a memory of such places. You don't find many like them anymore. Maybe that's one reason I cut my own hair as well as the Three Musketeers' now.

This writing is attributed to Paul Harvey by several sources. It certainly captures the sense of the man and is well worth reading. As other bloggers have written, HE now knows "the rest of the story..." May the airwaves always have such a voice.
