Actively working against us

The nation is still debating what to do about millions of illegal invaders in the country--a number that continues to grow. The economy is tanking, and a narcotics-fueled civil war is simmering next door in Mexico. So what's high on Uncle Sam's priority list?

Why, harassing local officials who are actively working the problems, of course:
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has launched an investigation of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office in Arizona following requests by congressional Democrats and allegations by liberal activists that the department has violated the civil rights of illegal aliens.

Sheriff Arpaio's efforts to enforce immigration laws have been the focus of previous criticism, but Arpaio has defended his department and the results his ICE-trained officers have netted.

Concerning the DOJ’s investigation, Arpaio told CNSNews.com: “I will not back down. What I am doing is upholding the laws of the state of Arizona, and I will not be persuaded to turn my back on my oath of office as sheriff of this county.”

I'll say it again: those here illegally have the human right to life and dignity, but they have no civil rights we are obliged to respect. If you break into my house, don't be surprised if I give you physical reminders of that being a bad idea. Same with breaking into my country.

We're fighting an alleged 'war on terror,' and the Feds want to impede one of the few local operations known to reduce cross-border violations. Does this seem stupid to anyone else?
