Hiding out

In the movie "Hiding Out," Jon Cryer avoids mob hitmen by disguising himself and pretending to be a high school student.

Considering this, the president must be a fan of the film:
On the rockiest day of his young administration, President Barack Obama did what surely made him happy for a while.

He left. ((Hope! Change!! -- Jemison))

With little notice, the president and first lady Michelle Obama bolted the gated compound of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in their tank of a limousine on Tuesday. They ended up at a Washington public school, greeted by children who could not care less about the collapse of a Cabinet secretary nomination.

The White House said the Obamas' trip had been planned, just not publicly announced. (("isn't that conveeeeenient?" -- The Church Lady))

The surprise timing, though, gave the feel of two different worlds.

He made history, though: after only two weeks in office, he claimed to be "just tired of being in the White House." There's an old saying: be careful what you wish for. Campaign's over, dude -- now you have the responsibility, and will (finally) have to answer substantive questions on things like, oh, nominating multiple tax dodgers to high office. Get used to it. It's your life for the next three years and fifty weeks.
