Last week was the anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans (on the 8th, to be exact). Some folks will recognize the tune below from the updated Johnny Horton version (which I remember learning in elementary school music... yes, we still honored our history in those days...). But the tune goes back closer to the original battle itself.
