Down, but not out

Just a little personal note. Yours truly spent most of New Years Day on computer maintenance. My five-year-old Sony VAIO, which has been a reliable workhorse, recently started bucking for the glue factory. After spending most of a day reformatting, rebooting, and rethinking why I even started down certain roads with the thing, enough was enough. After all, a five-year-old machine is a limitation in certain respects. So over the next couple of days, I'll be bringing the new system online (6x the RAM, 10x the HDD space -- OOOOOHHH Yeah!), and retiring the old one to the kids' room, where it can be relieved of the heavy apps and assigned light duty as a minor gaming machine. Put out to pasture is still a useful function sometimes...
