Preview of coming attractions

Seven days after the election, the leftward lurch in rhetoric is in full swing. It amazes me how these people can't see why their words cause great concern for those Americans who still believe in individual responsibility and liberty, private property, and limited government interference.

First off, we're assured the Obamessiah will be ready to "rule" from day one. An interesting term to apply to a President-elect, no doubt, but given the public discussions of continuing the extra-Constitutional process of legislation by Executive Order, it's probably the correct word.

Next, we're told there must be a change from the silly notion of the past several years that those with wealth are entitled to keep it. Naturally, the government will decide who is "wealthy," and thus subject to having their property confiscated for the public good. You may be surprised who that includes.

The call for "transparent government" apparently means changing "change.gov" in ways that are hardly visible to those who aren't watching carefully. And speaking of Change, I guess it can be equated with the Memory Hole for this crew. No, really, 2+2 DOES equal 5. This week, anyway.

And don't worry -- the new "ruler" has a plan in case regressive, reactionary elements take exception to the direction he plans to drag them. After all, what's the real value of a civilian national security force "just as powerful, just as well-funded" as the military? Probably the fact that Posse Comitatus wouldn't apply to them. You'll note that for all the rightful denunciations of the Patriot Act that came from Obama's base, there isn't much talk of dismantling the authorities of the surveillance welfare-warfare state he now stands to inherit.

Fasten your seat belts. It's going to be an interesting ride.
