Charlie Reese has penned his farewell column. His work has challenged my thinking since I was a teenager, reading his thoughts in our hometown newspaper. Unlike so many pundits today, who have a vested interest in this political party or that, his has been a defiantly independent perspective--one others would do well to emulate. In fact, his annual tradition of reporting on his own potential conflicts of interest and his personal philosophy should be required of all who make a living in the press.
I will, of course, maintain the link to his column archive. But I will miss seeing new content from one of the truly interesting American commentators of the last half century.
