Democrats' dilemma

This year's contest between Hillary and Obama for the Democratic nomination may be fulfillment of several decades of karma. For all their criticism (some of it founded) of Republicans playing race cards, no political organization has harnessed identity politics like the Donkeys. Truly adept at playing victim, they've managed to make politics emotional to the point they can't concede an adversary might have a logical reason for their stance. No, anyone who stands in their way must simply be a racist/sexist/fill-in-the-political-sin.

So it's with some mirth I watch the two main contenders slug it out, as millions of registered Democrats try to decide whether they want to be considered guilty of racial or gender insensitivity. I almost feel sorry for them. Almost.
