For a few days now, some groups have been trying to make hay out of the discovery that one of Ron Paul's 100,000+ donors happens to run a white supremacist site. Neil Cavuto repeated the calls for Paul to return the $500 check, and got a lesson in how a presidential candidate DOESN'T pander. The last few lines of his reply says it all.
Note to U.S. national media: you will serve America far better by spending your time in further investigation of Hillary's donors, or Romney's trouble with "just the facts," or the wild west lawlessless of government contractors in the Middle East, or the true beliefs, organization and support for groups the press love to quote (like CAIR, for one). This MIGHT allow you to regain some credibility with Americans who actually pay attention. Instead of looking for a speck in Paul's eye through remote guilt-by-association, pull the log out of your own.
Final thought: now that establishment criticism of Paul has been stretched desperately to highlight a $500 check from a would-be neo-Nazi, can we invoke Godwin's Law and say it's time to start discussing what this Ron Paul groundswell REALLY stands for?
