Montezuma's revenge

Whether there is a deliberate plan to merge the U.S., Canada and Mexico into a European Union-style superstate (personally, I think there is), the demographics are becoming inevitable anyway. This isn't about some racist dislike of latinos as individuals -- it's about a mass migration of people that does not allow for assimilation. The Reconquista is well underway, and we are turning into North Mexico. Or is that the North American Union. Whatever. A subversion by any other name...

Send the troops halfway around the world on a fool's errand, and leave the borders wide open. Yeah, that's a great way to maintain your sovereignty and your society.
..for the first time, two Hispanic surnames — Garcia and Rodriguez — are among the top 10 most common in the nation, and Martinez nearly edged out Wilson for 10th place.

The number of Hispanics living in the United States grew by 58 percent in the 1990s to nearly 13 percent of the total population, and cracking the list of top 10 names suggests just how pervasively the Latino migration has permeated everyday American culture.

“It shows we’re getting stronger,” Mr. Padilla said. “If there’s that many of us to outnumber the Anglo names, it’s a great thing.” ((doesn't sound like Mr. Padilla considers himself a generic American, does it? --Jemison))

A nation is defined by a common culture, language and economy. America was among the first to remove race as a factor in national identity, even if the process was a slow and painful one. Ironically, though, that removal was predicated on the idea that one became an American not by blood, but by acceptance of a set of values and principles. We have failed to defend that identity, and failed to require those who would come join us to actually JOIN us instead of homesteading within the land our ancestors built. Sadly, when this experiment in parallel societies comes crashing down, I fear race relations will be set back decades, if not centuries, as people default back to humanity's standard identity marker.

You can build a multiracial society that will last though common values. You cannot build a multicultural society with the same durability. See Austro-Hungarian Empire. We are being divided, made ripe for the pickings of globalism.
