No home field advantage

Typical public school logic these days:

1) Controversy erupts over students wearing/displaying foreign flags (specifically, Mexico's)
2) The front office decides to ban flags. All of them. Even Old Glory.
3) The 9/11 Anniversary draws unwanted attention to this policy.
4) The school relents, and now "all flags" will be permitted again.

Why is this an all-or-nothing proposition? How much sovereignty do you have left if you can't even give a place of privilege to your own flag? We worry about foreign sympathizers suing us for supression of "speech" if we ban all flags but our own, so the answer is to silence the locals, too? Good grief...

One final note: even though this took place in North Carolina, I'd wager a large some of money the revised "all flags welcome" policy doesn't include this one. Or this one.

Home field carries no advantage in the absurd game of political suicide correctness.
