Deja vu all over again

Headlines lately seem to prove that Dogbert had the right idea a few years ago, proposing a "permanent newspaper" -- a one-time product that would last forever. After all, it's a pretty good bet any daily newspaper will include stories about:
- Violence flares in the Middle East
- Pope calls for peace
- Prices rise
- Politician breaks campaign pledge / gets caught in scandal
- Scientists suspect global warming
Given these evergreen tales of woe (some well rooted in thousands of years of recorded history), it would seem to require far more faith to believe humanity will ever straighten up and solve its problems than it does to believe in a Creator.
