An amazing question coming from an 11-year old who, in the previous few days, had been drafted to help rake 30-40 bags of leaves, haul dirt and help rebuild a small deck. Considering his other options, one wouldn’t think this to be high on his to-do list.
But one thing I’ve noticed as my kids get older – they’re starting to like working with Dad. Now that they can do things like maneuver power tools, they’re getting into learning how the Big Boys live. Still, there are times when the new book calls, or the retro Atari console, or the TV…
As always, time with my kids teaches me much about our Heavenly Father. My delight in having my children want to work alongside me is nothing compared to His delight when we drop everything to be a part of His plans. And what I can teach my children by doing is nothing compared to what we learn when we watch the Master in action…
And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3
